these are just so amazing! hardly believeable that they are made by people and not “frozen in time” by magic. They really are breath taking.

Only pictures 3-8 are from the Alaska Ice Carving Championships. I’ve lived in Fairbanks, Alaska all my life where it is held. I’m not sure where the other photographs were taken.

I’ve been to ice festivals in Harbin, China and in the United States. Pictures 1,2,9-11 are from Harbin.

Pictures 1 and 10 are definitely from Sapporo, Japan. Note the Japanese flag flying in #10.
Picture 2 is from Winterlude in Ottawa, Canada.
The rest are anybody’s guess.
